ORDINANCE NO. 17,4M
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AND ADOPTING A BUDGET FOR THE
EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING (JOB TRAINING PARTNERSHIP ACT) FOR
THE PERIOD BEGINNING FEBRUARY 15, 1997 AND ENDING JUNE 30,
1997; APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR EACH AND EVERY CLASS OF
EXPENDITURETHEREIN PROVIDED; AND DECLARINGAN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors finds that the Employment and Training (Job
Training Partnership Act) is a vital community resource and is in need of funding support in
order to continue to provide services to the community; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Board of Directors to support the Employment and
Training (Job Training Partnership Act) as a public purpose in serving Little Rock citizens.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION I. There is hereby appropriated from the 1994 ($105,525) and 1995 ($66,928)
FUTURE - Little Rock Prevention, Intervention and Treatment (PIT) Fund the total sum of
$172,453 for support of the Employment and Training (Job Training Partnership Act) for the
purpose of supplementing administrative and support costs for the period February 15, 1997
through June 30, 1997.
SECTION 2. It is hereby found and determined that there is an immediate and urgent
need for adopting this budget so all JTPA obligations, including payroll, can be met, and so that
JTPA can continue to provide all services necessary for the public. Therefore, an emergency is
declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect on February 15, 1997.
SECTION 3. The City Manager is required to prepare a report on April 1, 1997 as to
continued funding of this program. The Board reserves the right to amend this appropriation
to provide funding from another source or to repeal this Ordinance at that time.
