AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 8 OF THE LITTLE ROCK
CODE OF ORDINANCES, PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION BY
REFERENCE OF THE 1995 ARKANSAS GAS CODE WITH
ARKANSAS AMENDMENTS AND REVISIONS, AND THE 1994
STANDARD GAS CODE WITH REVISIONS, AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Little Rock, Ark. Rev. Code 8- 476(B) adopts by reference the 1995 edition
of the "Arkansas Gas Code" with Arkansas Amendments and revisions with Appendix "A ",
"D" and "E ", and the 1994 edition of the "Standard Gas Code" with revisions both published
by the Southern Building Code Congress International, Birmingham, Alabama; and
WHEREAS, new amended 1994 editions of these Codes have been published by the
Southern Building Code Congress International and adopted by the State of Arkansas as the
Arkansas Gas Code, 1995 Edition; and
WHEREAS, the City has complied with Ark. Code Ann. §14 -55 -207 (1987) by
publishing a notice of intent to adopt these technical codes by reference in a paper of general
circulation within the municipality and three copies of codes have been available for inspection
in the City Clerk's office by the public prior to their adoption; and
WHEREAS, this ordinance amendment is necessary to update the City Code and
authorize the use of the 1995 edition within the City.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. Subsection (B) of Little Rock, Ark. Rev. Code
8 -474B (1988) is hereby amended to read as follows:
(a) The following publications are adopted by reference:
(1) The "1995 Arkansas Gas Code with Arkansas Amendments" and
revisions, and Appendix "A ", "D•• and "E"
(2) The "1994 Standard Gas Code" with revisions.
SECTION 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this provision are
hereby repealed to the extent of the conflict.
