AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH MGT OF AMERICA FOR A DISPARITY STUDY; APPROPRIATING FUNDS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, the FUTURE - Little Rock task force recommendations included actions that the City should take to promote and enhance economic development opportunities for minority members of the community; and WHEREAS, the Board of Directors accepted and endorsed in Resolution No. 9,218 the FUTURE - Little Rock recommendations for minority economic development and directed the City Manager to take appropriate steps to obtain a disparity study for the City; and WHEREAS, several City agencies have agreed to participate in the disparity study and to share its costs (a total participation of $80,500 from five City agencies); and WHEREAS, proposals were solicited, accepted and evaluated in accordance with City procurement policies, and the firm of MGT of America has been recommended by the selection committee as the most qualified firm to perform the disparity study. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with MGT of America in an amount not to exceed $163,755 for preparation of a disparity study for the City. SECTION 2. The sum of $40,611 was included in the 1995 operating budget of the City for a disparity study and was not spent, causing it to revert to the General Fund balance. The sum of $42,644 is hereby appropriated from the FUTURE - Little Rock reserve account (balance sheet account number 100 -8513) as partial funding for the disparity study contract.
