HomeMy WebLinkAbout170101 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 36 IINANCE NO. 17,010 • AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO AWARD A BID AND EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE RIVER MARKET; APPROPRIATING AND REALLOCATING FUNDS; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock has endorsed the development plans for the River Market District and River Market in Resolution No. 9,476; and WHEREAS, the 1995 Capital Improvement Bond Issue included funds for the development of the River Market; and WHEREAS, other funds are available to be allocated to the River Market; and WHEREAS, the City has received.bids for the River Market construction and staff recommends that the low bid submitted by Nabholz Construction Corporation in the amount of $2,913,400 be accepted. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. Funds available for the project are as follows: (a) There are 1995 Capital Improvement Bond Funds available for the project of $1,084,979.23 in account number 303 - 230 -0391. (b) HUD special purpose grant number AR 37SPG503 included $1,200,000 for park improvements, which are hereby allocated to the River Market project. (c) There is hereby reappropriated the sum of $100,000 from account number 210 - 230 -0332, the new Museum of Science and History project, to account number 303 - 230 -0391 for the River Market project. 0 0 1 (d) There is hereby reappropriated the sum of $200,000 from account number 2 210 -230 -0418, the East Markham Streetscape project, to account number 3 303 -230 -0391 for the River Market project. 4 5 (e) Additional funds to complete the funding required for the project are as 6 follows: $80,000 from the Central Arkansas Library System; $170,000 7 from the Downtown Partnership; and $100,000 from Riverfest, Inc. 8 9 SECTION 2. The City Manager, upon all the funds set forth in Section 1 being 10 consolidated and under his control, is hereby authorized to accept the bid submitted by 11 Nabholz Construction Corporation and to execute a contract with that firm for 12 construction of the River Market in the amount of $2,913,400. 13 14 SECTION 3. DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. The development of the River 15 Market District is essential to the revitalization of downtown Little Rock and will 16 promote the public health safety and welfare. It is critical that this construction begin 17 immediately.
