3 AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS FOR A CONTRACT
4 WITH A CABLE TELEVISION FRANCHISE RENEWAL CONSULTANT;

6 AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS, the current cable television franchise agreement expired on February
9 19, 1995; and
10
11 WHEREAS, the services of a cable television franchise consultant is deemed to
12 be necessary in order to successfully conclude the negotiations for a franchise renewal
13 that is in the best interest of the citizens of the City; and
14 WHEREAS, after a competitive selection process the firm of Arnold and Porter
15
16 was chosen to provide assistance to the cable television franchise renewal process; and
17 WHEREAS, funds were appropriated by Ordinance No. 16,620 in 1994. A
18 contract was authorized but the work could not be completed, and the funds were not
19 all spent. The appropriation balance lapsed at the end of 1994.

21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
22
23 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
24 SECTION 1. The sum of $30,000 is hereby appropriated from the unexpended
25 balance of the General Fund for the costs and expenses of the cable television
26 consultant contract.
