AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO APPROPRIATE $140,000 FOR
PARTIAL DEMOLITION AND FOR BOARDING
AND SECURING KRANKR SCHOOL AT 715
SHERMAN STREET.
WHEREAS, staff has completed preliminary cost estimates on
partial demolition and securing Kramer School; and
WHEREAS, the estimates exceed the Board approved allocation
of $150,000; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 16,840 resulted in the City Attorney
obtaining an "order of entry" for Kramer School; and
WHEREAS, the owner does not agree to the amount offered and
is asking $500,000; and
WHEREAS, the final amount will be resolved by the courts;
and
WHEREAS, in order to complete the demolition and
mothballing, an additional appropriation of $140,000 is needed
to finish the project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS;
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
allocate an additional $140,000 for partial demolition and for
boarding and securing Kramer School at 715 Sherman Street.
SECTION 2. Funding for this project will be taken from the
General Fund balance.
