ORDINANCE NO. 16,858
AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR SUPPORT OF THE
EXPANSION OF THE ARKANSAS ARTS CENTER; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas adopted the
1995 Budget Ordinance No. 16,797 on December 14, 1994, appropriating $250,000 for support
of the Arkansas Arts Center with the source of funding to be identified by March 31, 1995; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the Arkansas Arts Center is conducting a capital
campaign to raise funds for the expansion of the Arts Center and expects to raise over four times
the support provided by the City for the expansion; and
WHEREAS, the 1994 Year -end Financial Report for the City of Little Rock indicated
that additional funds are available in the General Fund and can be appropriated for this project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The sum of $250,000 is hereby appropriated from the unappropriated
balance of the General Fund for support of the expansion of the Arkansas Arts Center.
SECTION 2. Disbursements of these funds shall only be made following submission to
the Little Rock Finance Department by the Arkansas Arts Center of documentation of pledges
or donations in support of the expansion in amounts of at least $4 from other sources for each
$1 requested from the City.
