HomeMy WebLinkAbout167720 H H x W z E, a m H w x U a D 0 w F-1 ORDINANCE NO. 16,772 0 AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN LANDS THAT ARE COMPLETELY SURROUNDED BY THE INCORPORATED LIMITS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, Act 314 of 1979 provides that unincorporated "islands" of land that have been completely surrounded by the incorporated limits of a municipality may be annexed by that municipality; and WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock desires to annex certain lands more completely described below; and WHEREAS, all necessary urban services, such as fire and police protection, are to be extended to such area within a reasonable period of time; and WHEREAS, the area to be annexed complies with the standards for lands qualifying for annexation which are set forth in Ark. State. Ann. Section 14 -40 -501 at seq. and Act 314; and WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on October 18, 1994, regarding this proposed annexation; and WHEREAS, on September 30, 1994, a legal notice was published setting out the legal description of the territory proposed to be annexed and on September 29, 1994, all property owners within the area were sent notification by certified mail of their right to appear at the public hearing. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS. SECTION 1. That the following described unincorporated area which is completely surrounded by the City limits of the City of Little Rock is hereby annexed to the City of Little Rock. A parcel of land surrounded existing city limits of the and being parts of Sections and 21, all in T -1 -N, R -12 -1 Principal Meridian, Pulaski more particularly described entirely by the City of Little Rock 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, q of the Fifth County, Arkansas, and as follows; 076 M M M� M M M M M M M M M M 0 0 Beginning at the common corner of Sections 15, 16, 21, and 22, T -1 -N, R -12 -W: thence West along the North line of said Section 21 to the NW corner of the East 1/2, NE 1/4, said Section 21; thence South along the East line of said East 1/2, NE 1/4 to the SE corner thereof; thence West along the South line of the North 1/2, said Section 21 to the NE corner of the North 1/2, South 1/2, said Section 20; thence South along the East line of said North 1/2, South 1/2, to the SE corner thereof; thence West along the South line of said North 1/2, South 1/2 to the SW corner thereof, which point is also on the East line of Section 19, T -1 -N, R -12 -W; thence North along the said East line of Section 19 to the East -West centerline of said Section 19; thence West along said centerline to the center of Section 19; thence North along the North -South centerline of said Section 19 to its intersection with the East right -of -way line of Mabelvale Pike; thence continue in a Northerly direction along said East right -of -way line to a point which is 675.3 feet, more or less, South of the North line of the SW 1/4, SE 1/4 of Section 18, T -1 -N, R -12 -W; thence o departing from said East right -of -way line •r.
