AINANCE NO. 16,620 •
AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS FOR A CONTRACT
WITH A CABLE TELEVISION FRANCHISE RENEWAL CONSULTANT;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A
CONTRACT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the current cable television franchise agreement expires February 19,
1995; and
WHEREAS, the services of a cable television franchise consultant is deemed to
be necessary in order to successfully negotiate a franchise renewal that is in the best
interest of the citizens of the City; and
WHEREAS, after a competitive selection process the firm of Arnold and Porter
was chosen to provide assistance to the cable television franchise renewal process.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The sum of $70,000 is hereby appropriated from the unexpended
balance of the General Fund for the costs and expenses of the cable television
consultant contract.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with
the firm of Arnold and Porter to provide cable television franchise renewal consulting
services up to the amount of $70,000.
