4 AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $150,000 FROM
5 THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FUND TO THE
6 LITTLE ROCK PORT AUTHORITY; DECLARING AN
7 EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

WHEREAS, the Little Rock Port Authority is involved in
9 certain infrastructure improvements including the construction
10 and paving of a new road, and
11 WHEREAS, such improvements will assist the Port in its
12 endeavors to attract industry and provide for jobs and economic
13 development within the City of Little Rock,
Now, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
14 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS;
15 SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated the sum of one
16 hundred and fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) from the Economic
17 Development Fund for the benefit of the Little Rock Port
18 Authority, said appropriation to be used for infrastructure
improvements at the Port.
19 SECTION 2. The Port is presently involved in the completion
20 of infrastructure improvements including the building of paved
21 roads to serve various areas of the Port; it is imperative that
22 this work be completed as soon as possible in order to assist
the Port in its mission to assist in the City's economic
23 development. This development will aid the health, safety and
24 welfare of the citizens of the City of Little Rock. An emergency
25 is therefore declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in
26 full force and effect from the date of its passage.
