ORDINANCE NO. 16,119
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
RENEW THE CONTRACT WITH PRUDENTIAL INSURANCE
COMPANY OF AMERICA TO PROVIDE CITY EMPLOYEES
HEALTH AND LIFE INSURANCE BENEFITS FOR A ONE
YEAR PERIOD COMMENCING JANUARY 1, 1992; AND
FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Little Rock Ark., Resolution No. 8,385 (October
16, 1990), authorized a contract with Prudential Insurance Company
of America to provide health and life insurance benefits for City
of Little Rock employees, commencing January 1, 1991; and
WHEREAS, this renewal will represent the second year of a
three year contract.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1: The City Manager is hereby authorized to renew
the contract with Prudential Insurance Company of America to
provide health and life insurance benefits to City employees for
one year, commencing January 1, 1992.
SECTION 2: The Board expressly notes that on January 1,
1991, Director Hampton Roy became a member of the Board of
Directors; further, that Dr. Roy is listed as .a potential
qualified care provider by Prudential Plus; therefore, the Board
recognizes that he may receive some indirect benefit from this
contract and has no objection since Dr. Roy is not an officer,
director, or employee of Prudential Insurance Company.
