AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE
PURCHASE OF A RESIDENTIAL STRUCTURE
AT 5623 VALLEY DRIVE; AUTHORIZING
THE EXPENDITURE OF $25,000 TO
REMODEL THE STRUCTURE FOR USE AS A
NEIGHBORHOOD ALERT CENTER; AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.

WHEREAS, the City has determined that 5623 Valley Drive
would be an excellent location for a Southwest Little Rock
Neighborhood Alert Center; and
WHEREAS, this structure can be purchased for $34,191.83;
and
WHEREAS, the structure can be remodeled in an amount not to
exceed $25,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The Mayor is authorized to execute all documents
necessary to affect the purchase and the receipt of a warranty
deed for the structure at 5623 Valley Drive provided that the
purchase price for said structure shall not exceed $34,191.83.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is authorized to expend an
amount not to exceed $25,000 for remodeling work for the
Neighborhood Alert Center, this amount to be available from
funds appropriated in Little Rock, Ark. Ord. 16,180 (February
18, 1992).
SECTION 3. EMERGENCY CLAUSE. The establishment of
neighborhood alert centers to help provide City services and
community policing in crucial areas of the City is necessary to
preserve the health, safety and welfare of the citizens;
therefore, an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance
