ORDINANCE NO. 16,146
AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BUS BENCH
FRANCHISE SET FORTH IN LITTLE ROCK, ARK.,
ORDINANCE NO. 14,160 (NOVEKBER 17, 1981).
WHEREAS, the City awarded a ten year bus bench franchise to
Public Bench Ads, Inc., for a period of ten years which expired
on December 1, 1991; and
WHEREAS, the City is reformulating the criteria for this
franchise; and
WHEREAS, Public Bench Ads, Inc., will accept a 6 -month
extension of the existing franchise agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The bus bench franchise granted by Little Rock
Ordinance No 14,160, is hereby renewed for a period of six
months from December 1, 1991, to May 1, 1992.
SECTION 2. The bus bench franchise fee shall remain at $5
per year for each bench placed upon any sidewalk in the City of
Little Rock.
SECTION 3. The present franchise for public bus bench
advertisements has ended; being able to control such
advertisements is necessary for the public health, safety and
welfare of the citizens of the City of Little Rock; therefore,
an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in
full force and effect from and after the date of its passage.
