AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $86,400.73
IN COURT COST MONIES, RELEASED BY THE
COUNTY AND STATE, FROM THE GENERAL FOND
BALANCE TO THE LITTLE ROCK COURT COST
COMMON FUND ACCOUNT, AND DECLARING AN
its
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock has reached a settlement
with the plaintiffs, Pulaski County, and the State of Arkansas,
in the case of Laterteria Nathaniel v. City of Little Rock et
al, No. 91 -2525 (Pul. Co. Chan.); (the "court cost caseO) and
WHEREAS, an appropriation is required to disburse monies
from the General Fund because the Little Rock Traffic Fine
Account has been closed into the City's General Fund balance for
the years covered by the lawsuit, 1988 -1992.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. Eighty -six thousand four hundred dollars and
seventy -three cents ($86,400.73) is hereby appropriated from the
unappropriated balance of the General Fund to be disbursed by
the Finance Director and made payable to the "Little Rock Court
Cost Common Fund Account.°
SECTION 2. Emergency. Whereas, these funds are necessary to
secure a good faith settlement negotiated between the City,,
plaintiffs, Pulaski County, and the State of Arkansas in
Laterteria Nathaniel v. City of Little Rock, et al, No. 91 -2525
(Pul. Co. Chan.); such settlement being necessary to the public
peace, health, and welfare of the citizens of the City, an
emergency is hereby declared and this ordinance shall take
effect immediately upon its passage.
