AN ORDINANCE DISPENSING WITH THE
REQUIREMENT OF COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
INTO A CONTRACT WITH RECORDS IMAGING
SYSTEM FOR THE PURCHASE OF LASER OPTICAL
DISK SYSTEM SOFTWARE AND EQUIPMENT
UPGRADE FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors may dispense with the
requirement of competitive bidding in exceptional situations where
such procedure is not feasible; and
WHEREAS, an upgrade of equipment and software will allow
for expansion of the Laser Optical Disk System used by the Police
Department; and
WHEREAS, included in this upgrade are additional
workstations, computer equipment and necessary software to link it
together with the existing Minolta equipment; and
WHEREAS, Records Imaging System is the only recognized
authorized Minolta agent for the state and consequently the only
source for this purchase.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1: The Board of Directors of the City of Little
finds that competitive bidding should be dispensed with for the
purchase of Laser Optical Disk System software and equipment
upgrade as an exceptional situation exists and competitive bidding
is not feasible.
SECTION 2: The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter
into a contract with Records Imaging System in an amount not to
exceed $63,972.77 for this purchase for the Police Department.
