AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $25,000 FROM
THE CITY'S GENERAL FUND FOR STEPPING
STONE, INC.
WHEREAS, Stepping Stone, Inc. is a private, nonprofit
agency that serves troubled youth from the ages of 8 to 18
in the City of Little Rock; and
WHEREAS, several of these youth are housed at Stepping
Stone, Inc. as a part of the diversionary program of the
Little Rock Municipal Courts; and
WHEREAS, due to a reduction in appropriations from
the federal government, the Board of Directors of Stepping
Stone, Inc. is requesting financial assistance from the City
of Little Rock for the operation of its emergency shelter and
transportation van in the amount of a $25,000.00 grant; and
WHEREAS, such a grant will contribute to the health,
safety and welfare of the troubled youth served by Stepping
Stone, Inc. and also contribute to the health, safety and
welfare of the community at large.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. There is hereby appropriated to Stepping
Stone, Inc. the sum of $25,000.00 from the City's General
Fund to help defray the costs of operation of its emergency
shelter and transportation van.
