AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 13,936
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK PERTAINING TO
THE CRUELTY TO ANIMALS.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The language in Section 7 -33 Humane care and
treatment shall be amended to read as follows:
Section 7 -33 Cruelty to Animals.
(1) Except as authorized by law, no person shall
knowingly:
(a) Abandon any animal under
circumstances subjecting it to death, injury or
disease;
(b) Subject any animal to cruel
mistreatment;
(c) Subject any animal in his custody to
neglect under circumstances exposing the animal to
injury, disease or death;
(d) Cause or permit any dogfight or
other combat between animals or between animals and
humans; or
(e) Kill or injure any animal belonging
to another without legal privilege or consent of
the owner.
(2) Penalty. Violation of this section is a
misdemeanor and shall be punishable by a fine of up
to $500 and imprisonment of up to a year in jail.
