HomeMy WebLinkAbout156670 0 ORDINANCE NO. 15,667 AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND CLOSING A PORTION OF GARFIELD STREET AND A PORTION OF WEST 13TH STREET IN COX'S SUBDIVISION OF TAYLOR & BODEMAN'S ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS WHEREAS, it has been determined that Garfield Street beginning 153 ft. south of West 12th Street to the curve of Northmoor and the current Garfield Street abutting Block 1 of Cox's Subdivision of Taylor & Bodeman's Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, and West 13th Street between Garfield Street and the alley 130 feet to the east, between Blocks 1 and 2 of Cox's Subdivision of Taylor and Bodeman's Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, as designated on the plat of said Addition now appearing of record in Plat Book 1, Page 24, in the Office of the Recorder of Pulaski County, Arkansas, are no longer needed for corporate purposes, except for public utility and drainage easement purposes. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. Except as stated in Section 2 below, the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, hereby releases, vacates and abandons all its rights, together with the rights of the public generally, in and to the streets designated as follows: 1. That portion of Garfield Street beginning 153 feet south of West 12th Street (see Ordinance No. 13,973), thence south to the curve of Northmoor and Garfield as currently platted, abutting Block 1 of Cox's Subdivision of Taylor & Bodeman's Addition, a distance of approximately 74 feet along the centerline of Garfield Street. 2. That portion of West 13th Street from Garfield Street 130 feet east to the alley, and lying between Lot 9, Block 1 and Lot 6, Block 2 of Cog's Subdivision of Taylor & Bodeman's Addition. SECTION 2. The City specifically retains the right to use, and allow others to use, the former street right -of -way in its entirety as a public utility and drainage easement. SECTION 3. Abutting owners of record, receiving title to the abandoned right -of -way and easement shall at their cost remove all vestiges of public use and access as may exist; such modifications shall include, but are not limited to the following: 133 0-�7 M M M M 0 0 M M M M M A. The entrances on both ends of the abandoned right - of -way and easement shall be offset and /or rebuilt to conform to the standard driveway design as required by Ordinance No. 12,501. B. The edge of pavement of the right -of -way shall be rebuilt to conform to existing conditions in the general vicinity where the abandoned right -of -way and easement intersects with the remaining public right -of -way. SECTION 4. A copy of this Ordinance, duly certified by the City Clerk, shall be filed in the Office of the Recorder of Pulaski County and recorded in the records of the County. SECTION 5.
