ORDINANCE NO. 14,902
AN ORDINANCE TO EMPOWER THE CITY MANAGER OR
THE CITY MANAGER'S DESIGNEE TO APPOINT AND
AUTHORIZE TAXICAB INSPECTORS IN THE
DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN AND GENERAL SERVICES FOR
THE ISSUANCE OF CITATIONS.

WHEREAS, Act 763 of 1983, codified as Ark. Stat. Ann.
§ 42 -1009 (Cum. Supp. 1983), specifically provides that City
employees who are charged with the duty of enforcing a particular
ordinance or regulation may be authorized to issue citations for
violations of said ordinances or regulation; and
WHEREAS, taxicab inspectors are charged with the duty to
regularly monitor compliance with said taxicab ordinances and
regulations within the City of Little Rock; and
WHEREAS, the health, safety and welfare of the public
will be endangered by indiviudals violating said taxicab
ordinances and regulations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager or the City Manager's
designee is hereby empowered to appoint and authorize Taxicab
Inspectors in the Department of Human and General Services for
the issuance of citations for violations of the taxicab
ordinances and regulations of the City of Little Rock.

SECTION 2. The City Manager or the City Manager's 173
designee shall designate in writing the individuals in the
Department of Human and General Services who are authorized to
issue citations. This list shall be filed of record with the
City Clerk.
