AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING CHANGES IN THE PURCHASING
LIMITATIONS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK.
WHEREAS, the increased cost of services, commodities and
materials has created more Board requests from the Purchasing
Office and from the City Manager's Office; and
WHEREAS, holding prices and securing delivery on small
construction projects and commodity bids are becoming more
difficult as Board approval can be as late as one month after the
contractor has been selected by the Purchasing Office; and
WHEREAS, smaller, emergency type construction projects
need to be started as soon as possible after bids are taken; and
WHEREAS, by raising the Purchasing Agent's approval
level from $2,500.00 to $5,000.00 and the City Manager's approval
level from $10,000.00 to $20,000.00 the City of Little Rock will
be able to handle these expenditures more efficiently.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The Purchasing Agent's approval level is
hereby raised from $2,500.00 to $5,000.00.
SECTION 2. The City Manager's approval level is hereby
raised from $10,000.00 to $20,000.00.
