5 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING VARIOUS SECTIONS OF
6 THE LITTLE ROCK CODE OF ORDINANCES PROVIDING
7 FOR AN INCREASE IN PARKING METER FEES AND
8 FINES.

11 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
12 OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
13 SECTION 1. Section 39- 101(2) of the Little Rock Code of
14 Ordinances is hereby amended to read as follows:
15 (2) No person shall park any vehicle in
16 any thirty minute parking zone located
17 in parking meter zones, as the same now
18 exist or may hereafter be established,
19 for more than thirty minutes at any time
20 between the hours of eight o'clock a.m.
21 and six o'clock p.m. on Monday through
22 Saturday, except on Sundays and holidays,
23 and only upon the minimum deposit of
24 twenty -five cents ($0.25) in a parking
25 meter located alongside such thirty
26 minute zone.
27 SECTION 2. Section 39- 102(2) of the Little Rock Code of
28 Ordinances is hereby amended to read as follows:
29 (2) No person shall park any vehicle in
30 any one hour parking zone located in
31 parking meter zones, as the same now
32 exist or may hereafter be established,
33 for more than one hour at any time
34 between the hours of eight o'clock a.m.
35 and six o'clock p.m. on Monday through

1 Saturday, except on Sundays and holidays,

6 SECTION 3. Section 39- 103(2) of the Little Rock Code of
7 ordinances is hereby amended to read as follows:
8 (2) No person shall park any vehicle in any
9 two hour parking zone located in parking
10 meter zones, as the same now exist or may
11 hereafter be established, for more than two
12 hours at any time between the hours of eight
13 o'clock a.m. and six o'clock p.m. on Monday
14 through Saturday, except on Sundays and
15 holidays, and only upon the deposit of a
16 minimum of twenty -five cents ($0.25) for
17 each hour in a parking meter located
18 alongside such two hour zone.
19 SECTION 4. Section 39 -105 (a)(c) of the Little Rock
20 Code of Ordinances is hereby amended to read as follows:
21 (a) There is hereby provided a penalty of five
22 dollars ($5.00) for violation of overtime
23 parking in the City of Little Rock in all
24 unmetered restricted and metered parking
25 areas. A combination ticket and envelope
26 shall be provided in the issuance of a
27 violation citation for the convenience of
28 motorists. The penalty charge for overtime
29 parking of five dollars ($5.00) shall be
30 paid by placing the said sum in the penalty
31 box attached to the parking meters or by
32 paying same at the Little Rock Police
33 Department.
34 (c) For the five - dollar tickets referred to in
35 subsections (a) and (b) above, the fines
36 shall increase as follows:

(1) On five - dollar tickets, if paid within
seven (7) days, the fine will remain
the same.
(2) After seven (7) and before twenty -one
(21) days, the fine for the five - dollar
ticket will be ten dollars ($10.00).
(3) After twenty -one (21) days, the fine
for the five - dollar ticket will be
twenty dollars ($20.00).
SECTION 5. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed and this ordinance shall be
in full force and effect ninety (90) days after its passage.
