ORDINANCE NO. 14,417
AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE LOW BID OF POM INC.,
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO AWARD A
CONTRACT TO POM INC., FOR THE PURCHASE OF
PARKING METERS (MECHANISMS AND HOUSINGS) AND
TWIN ADAPTERS FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT
AND THE PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT; AND
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION OF $16,720.00 TO FUND
THE PURCHASE FOR THE PARKS AND RECREATION
DEPARTMENT
Whereas, POM Inc., of Russellville, Arkansas, in response to
advertising, has submitted the low bid for the purchase of
parking meters (mechanisms and housings) and twin adapters for
the Public Works Department and the Parks and Recreation
Department, a total of $20,530.00; and,
Whereas, the Public Works Department needs thirty (30)
parking meters (mechanisms and housings) at a cost of $3,810.00
which the Public Works Department has available, without
additional appropriation; and,
Whereas, the Parks and Recreation Department needs one
hundred twenty -five (125) parking meters (mechanisms and
housings) and sixty -five (65) twin adapters at a cost of
$16,720.00, which requires an appropriation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to accept
the bid of POM Inc., and to award POM Inc., a contract for the
purchase of the items heretofore specified for a total price of
$20,530.00 for the Public Works Department and the Parks and
Recreation Department in accordance with the attached Fact Sheet
and Abstract of Bids.
Section 2. There is hereby appropriated from the
1977 Capital Improvement Fund interest earnings the sum of
$16,720 for 125 parks and recreation parking meters and 65 twin
adapters.

Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from the date of its approval.

DISCUSSION:It is recommended that the low bid
submitted by POM of $20,530 be accept-
ed. Public Works will buy 30 meters
(Mechanisms & Housings) for a total
of $3,810 and has sufficient funds
for that purchase. Parks & Recreation
has requested that they be allowed to
purchase 125 meters (Mechanisms &
Housings) and 65 Twin Adapters for a
_total of $16,720. An appropriation
will be required for their purchase.
