AN ORDINANCE TO REPEAL SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE
NO. 14,548: TO REINSTATE THE PROVISIONS OF
LITTLE ROCK CODE SECTION 15 -1(2) FIXING THE
CHARGE AND METHOD OF BILLING OF FEES FOR
COLLECTION OF GARBAGE, WASTE, TRASH AND
REFUSE FROM MULTIPLE DWELLING AND
COMMERCIAL PROPERTIES; DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 14,548 Section 2 is hereby
repealed and Little Rock Code Section 15 -1(2) is hereby
reinstated to read as follows:
"For each multiple dwelling or commercial
property utilizing city- approved, privately
owned containers not capable of being serviced
except by manpower, the fee will be two dollars
and thirty -five cents ($2.35) per month per
cubic yard of material handled. Such fees shall
be collected monthly and be billed on the
statement for water for the premises served and
be the debt and obligation of the person, firm
- or corporation in whose name the water meter or
meters for such multiple dwelling or commercial
property is listed."

SECTION 2. It has been found and is declared by the Board
x� of Directors that Ordinance No. 14,548 Section 2, which purported

to increase the fee involved from $2.35 to $4.35 was inadvertent
and did not express the intent of the Board, being the result of
administrative error; that such error has caused great confusion
`1 and uncertainty in the operation of the City's garbage, waste,
� trash, and refuse collection "program "; that there is urgent need
to correct the error; and that this measure will provide the

required remedy. Therefore, an emergency is declared to exist,
and this ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the
public peace, health, and safety, shall take effect and be in
force from the date of its approval.
