ORDINANCE NO. 14,483
Aid ORDINANCE PURSUANT TO ACT 543 OF 1933 PROVIDING
RULES FOR THE SELECTION OF NON - UNIFORM CIVIL SERVICE
EMPLOYEES FOR CITY EPTPLOYMENT AND PROMOTION.

WHEREAS, Act 543 of 1933 permits affected cities to adopt a rule
alternative to that set forth in Act 322 of 1937, §3 (Sixth), as amended,
for the selection of applicants for non - uniform civil service employment
and the selection of non - uniform civil service personnel for promotion;
and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors is desirous of adopting the alter-
native rule so provided,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. In lieu of the rule set forth in Act 322 of 1937,
F3 (Sixth), as amended, for the selection of applicants for non - uniform
civil service employment and the selection.of non - uniform civil service
personnel for promotion, the following, rule is hereby adopted:
For certification to the Department Head of the five (5)
standing highest on the eligibility list for appointment for that
rant: of service; and for said Department Head to select for
appointment one (1) of the five (5) certified to him and notify
the commission thereof; and for the promotion or advancement of
one of the three (3) standing highest on the eligibility list for
that rank of service.
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval.
