A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY
FOR A UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF INTERIOR GRANT
THROUGH THE ARKANSAS DEPARTMENT OF PARRS AND TOURISM
TO BE USED FOR DEVELOPMENT OF HINDMAN SOUTH PARK.
WHEREAS, in order to obtain the funds necessary to improve
Hindman South Park to develop it's full recreational potential, it
is necessary to obtain a grant from the United States Department
of Interior, Land and Water Conservation Fund program; and
WHEREAS, the preliminary plans for the improvements to
Hindman South Park have been prepared and a budget of these
improvements has been established; and
WHEREAS, the City Board of Directors of the City of Little
Rock, Arkansas, is well aware and apprised of the plans to improve
Hindman South Park with the City of Little Rock providing a share
of the local development cost of the project, and
WHEREAS, Hindman South Park will be dedicated and
perpetually maintained as a recreational facility.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to apply
for a grant from the Land and Water Conservation Fund through the
Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism to be used for the
development of Hindman South Park.
