A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ACCEPT BIDS AND AWARD A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE
OF A CRAWLER DOZER FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN
AND GENERAL SERVICES, FLEET SERVICES DIVISION.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1: The City Manager is hereby authorized to accept
bids and award a contract for the purchase of a crawler dozer for
the Department of Human and General Services, Fleet Services
Division in an amount not to exceed $96,126.50 to Rushing & Mason,
Inc.

It is recommended that the bid submitted on the conventional dozer by Rushing
and Mason be accepted. The only vendors meeting specifications on the high
drive dozer was J.A. Riggs and E.A. Martin, but it was felt their bids were too
high to consider. Newton Equipment was disqualified on the conventional dozer
as they failed to provide front and rear striker bars as specified.

I am writing this letter to assure you of our capability to furnish the City of Little
Rock a Landfill Dozer [I.E. Fiat Allis FD 14E] that meets all requirements that the 2 -.
City requested. We will comply with all specification requirements as stated in our
response to the City of Little Rock Bid Number 9148R [Spec. # N 62- 89 -21. We understand
all minimum dimensional and specific requirements must be met with no tolerance as a
part of the City.'s process [I.E. the digging depth of 18" and the blade lift clearance
of,42 "]. We agree to correct any discrepancies noted upon delivery within 30 days or
the purchase contract will be voided.
