3 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
4 ACCEPT BIDS AND AWARD CONTRACTS FOR STREET
5 AND DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS IN THE PANKEY AREA,
6 AND TO REBUILD A CATERPILLAR TRACK LOADER.

8 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
9 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
10 SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to accept
11 bids and award contracts for street and drainage improvements in
12 the Pankey Area to Hobbs Contractors of Little Rock for the Human
13 and General Services Department in an amount not to exceed
14 $104,144.40; and to rebuild a caterpillar track loader to J.A.
15 Riggs Tractor Company of Little Rock for the Human and General
16 Services Department in an amount not to exceed $78,900.00; payable
17 from the funds specified in the attached fact sheets.

RECOM ENIXTION MID DISCUSSION:
J. A. Riggs is the only authorized caterpillar parts distributor available for the
City of Little Rock. Bids were issued, however, potential rebuilders would have
to buy their parts from Riggs or use non - caterpillar parts, It is Fleet Services
contention that genuine caterpillar parts are necessary for this project.
