HomeMy WebLinkAbout8112RESOLUTION NO. 8,112 RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS ADOPTING THE 36TH STREET INTERCHANGE STUDY AND CALLING FOR A BREAK -IN ACCESS WHEREAS, the PATS (Pulaski Area Transportation Study) plan has for years called for an interchange at 36th Street and Interstate 430; and WHEREAS, a team of consultants has reviewed feasibility of an interchange and can recommend a design for the interchange; and WHEREAS, the Engineering Staff has reviewed the study and concurs with the findings; and WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock Planning Commission has held a public hearing and recommends the adoption of the study and a call for break -in access on Interstate 430; and WHEREAS, an interchange is important to improve the local area's traffic needs. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK. Section 1. That the Board adopts the 36th Street .... . ........ _ ..... ........ . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . _ interchange with the Option A interchange design. Section 2. That the Mayor and City Manager officially . . . . . . . . _ _ ........... .... request the approval of the break -in access on Interstate 430 at 36th Street. Section 3. That the City Staff immediately begin securing the necessary right -of -way through letters of intent and /or actual dedication. Section 4. That the City Staff begin investigations into funding sources and methods for the project with the parties which will receive the majority of the benefit from the project.
