THE CITY MANAGER TO
ACCEPT BIDS AND AWARD THE ANNUAL CONTRACT FOR
THE PURCHASE OF SAND, STONE AND AGGREGATE FOR
THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT AND THE PARRS AND
RECREATION DEPARTMENT; AND FOR THE PURCHASE OF
GOLF CARTS FOR THE PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to accept
bids and award the annual contract for the purchase of sand, stone
and aggregate from various bidders, as specified on the fact
sheets, for the Public Works Department and the Parks and
Recreation Department, in an amount not to exceed $120,000; and
for the purchase of golf carts for the Parks and Recreation
Department from Capital Turf & Equipment, in an amount not to
exceed $82,893.80, payable from the funds specified in the
attached fact sheets.

RECON ENWIM AND DISCUSSION:
It is recommended that the awards be made as shown on the tabulation.
Hogan Construction was disqualified on items 3 and 4 as their stone chips
didn't conform to our specifications. They bid a larger stone which will
not be suitable for our application. It is requested that item 6 (Rip Rap
Rock) be awarded to Mid -State Construction instead of the low bidder, E.C.
Rowlett. Although Rowlett is low by .04 a ton, their plant is in Maumelle
and we pick this product up. Mid -State is located less than 2 miles from
the Material Yard.

It is recommended that the bid submitted by Capital Turf & Equipment be
accepted. The low bid submitted by Golf Carts of Arkansas was disqualified
