NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. Pursuant to Section 2 -243 of the Little Rock Code of Ordinances, the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Blass, Chilcote, Carter & Wilcox for architectural services at the Dunbar Community Center in the amount of $27,000.00. SECTION 2. The City Manager is also authorized to enter into a contract with Carson & Associates for the remodeling of the Interstate Park Concession in the amount of $29,225.00. SECTION 3. Funds are currently available in Account No. 301 - 230 -0050 for architectural services at Dunbar Community Center and Account No. 211 - 214 - 0088 73010 for the remodeling of the Interstate Park Concession. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The 1987 Bond Issue provides for approximately $400,000 worth of improvements to this much - used, 35 -year old facility. The architectural selection committee consisted of Charles Nickerson, Assistant City Manager of Operations; Bill Bunten, Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation; Bob Lane, Director of Public Works; Gary Greeson, Director of Comprehensive Planning; and Mark Alderfer, CDI. The negotiated fee of $27,000 is seven percent of the total project, which is below the fee established by the American Institute of Architects for this type of project.
