RESOLUTION NO. 8,072
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE HONORABLE THOMAS
A. PRINCE, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK
(1985 -87) FOR HIS DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE
CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
WHEREAS, Tom Prince has unselfishly served the citizens
of Little Rock as a City Director since January 1, 1985; and
WHEREAS, Tom Prince, by earning the respect of his fellow
directors, was selected to serve as Mayor of the City from
1985 to 1987; and
WHEREAS, in his capacity as Mayor, Tom Prince served with
distinction, becoming recognized as a leading spokesman for
increased public /private participation and partnership so as to
further the economic development of the City; and
WHEREAS, under his direct guidance and leadership, the
City's first Arts & Humanities Promotion Commission and the
City's first Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) Program were
formed, which assist in enriching the lives of thousands of our
citizens; and
WHEREAS, during his four years of service to the citizens
of Little Rock, Tom Prince has spent literally thousands of
hours dealing with a multitude of citizen concerns ensuring
particularly, for those less fortunate.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The Board of Directors for the City of Little
Rock, on behalf of the entire community, wishes to extend its
heartfelt gratitude to the Honorable Tom Prince, Mayor of the
