A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ACCEPT BIDS AND AWARD CONTRACTS FOR
UNIFORMS FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT,
INSTALLATION OF PAVERS FOR RIVERFRONT PARK,
AND LIGHTING FOR RIVERFRONT PARK EAST.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to accept
bids and award contracts for uniforms for the Fire Department,
installation of concrete pavers for Riverfront Park and lighting
for Riverfront Park East.

RECONt ENDATION AND DISCUSSION:
It is recommended that the award for all items be given to Phillips Men's Store
as the lowest qualified bidder.
Reasons for disqualifications:
Item 3: J.B. Battle failed to submit samples as required by the terms of the bid.
Schneider's coat failed in several areas. Their coat had no elastic
waistband, epaulets and the sleeves of their liner were not secured to
the outer sleeve.
Item 4: Martin Southern bid a different weave than specified. A tropical weave
was requested, and they bid gabardine which was unacceptable to the
Fire Department.
