3 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
4 BEAUTIFUL COMMISSION TO CREATE RULES AND
5 ACCEPT ENTRIES FOR AN OFFICIAL FLAG FOR
6 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK.

8 WHEREAS, a flag serves as an inspirational symbol and
9 displays respect for that which it represents; and
10 WHEREAS, a flag inspires patriotism, reverence, and loyalty
11 in the hearts of those who understand a flag's significance to its
12 standard bearers; and
13 WHEREAS, a flag is a constant reminder of the foundations,
14 ideals, history and goals of that which it symbolizes; and
15 WHEREAS, an official flag which represents the City of
16 Little Rock would encourage the above attributes associated with a
17 flag; and
18 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock currently has no official
19 flag.
20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
21 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
22 SECTION 1. The Little Rock City Beautiful Commission is
23 hereby granted the necessary authority to create rules and accept
24 entries for flag designs with ultimate consideration and approval
25 to be granted by the Little Rock Board of Directors.
