A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK'S SORROW IN THE UNTIMELY DEATHS OF
DR. ROBERT ROSS AND MRS. JEANENE DELILLE.
WHEREAS, a university can be an essential ingredient in the
quality of life in a city, maximizing the opportunities of choice,
and supporting economic growth; and
WHEREAS, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock has
steadily and progressively increased its role and contribution to
Little Rock and the Central Arkansas area; and
WHEREAS, the vision, ability and character of Dr. Robert
Ross and Mrs. Jeanene DeLille were instrumental in promoting this
progress at UALR as reflected through the energies and academic
skills of its students; and
WHEREAS, the untimely death of Dr. Robert Ross and Mrs.
Jeanene DeLille is a regretful tragedy, the loss of which is not
only felt by their families, but also the University System and
the citizens of the Little Rock.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The Board of Directors on behalf of the citizens
of the City of Little Rock, do hereby extend their deepest
condolences to the Ross and DeLille families and further express
their appreciation for the contributions both have made to this
community through their vigor, dedication and drive for excellence
at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
