FOR CONSULTANT ENGINEERING SERVICES IN' CONNECTION WITH THE RECONSTRUCTION OF BROWN STREET FROM 15TH TO 20TH STREETS. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. In compliance with Section 2 -44(b) of the Little Rock Code of Ordinances dealing with the selection of professional services, the City Manager is hereby authorized to award a contract to Grimes and Johnson, Inc. for consultant engineering services in connection with the reconstruction of Brown Street from 15th to 20th Streets. DISCUSSION: The engineering services required are design of the pr ect and general construction oversight. The contract with Grimes and Johnson is recommended in accordance with the Board's competitive selection policy for professional services. A request for qualifications was advertised in a newspaper of general circulation in the area on February 27, 1987, and March 6, 1987. Twelve firms responded and were rated on April 13, 1987, by a committee consisting of Bill Anderson, Civil Engineer III; Carroll Ball, Public Works Design Chief; Jim Lawson, Advance Planning Manager; Ed Stanfield, CDBG Program Manager; and Ward Wimbish, Chief of Field Operations, Department of Public Works.
