HomeMy WebLinkAbout7785RESOLUTION N0. 7,785 196 A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE INTENT OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS TO IMPLEMENT THE PROVISIONS OF ACT 840 OF 1987. WHEREAS, the majority of the Board of Directors believes there is a growing consensus that the position of Mayor should be directly elected and there should be some ward representation; and WHEREAS, with the passage of Act 840 of 1987, the Board of Directors may by ordinance alone, modify the current City Manager form of government so as to incorporate those features without the necessity of reorganizing the government. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS. SECTION 1. The Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, hereby expresses their intent to adopt an ordinance to implement the provisions of Act 840 of 1987, by August 1, 1987, should the referendum for City Administrator form of government fail on June 9.
