A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ACCEPT BIDS AND AWARD CONTRACTS FOR STREET
RESURFACING AND STREET SLURRY WORK FOR 1987.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF 151RECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
accept bids and award contracts for street resurfacing and
street slurry work for 1987, as set forth on the attached fact
sheets and bid tabulations, for a total price not to exceed
the budget, payable from the funds specified on the fact sheets.
ADOPTED: May 5, 1987.

SUBJECT: Pave Resurfacing and Slurrying Program - 1987
BOARD ACTION RECOMMENDED:
1. Authorize the City Manager to enter into a contract with Hardy Construction
Company, Inc., of Pine Bluff, Ar., in the amount of $1,374,044 for street
resurfacing in 1987.
2. Authorize the City Manager to enter into a contract with C and F Construction
Company, Inc., of Smackover, Ar., in the amount of $141,955 for street slurry in
1987.
Under these contracts the City will improve 61.64 miles of streets. This program
will upgrade the riding quality and extend the useful life of many segments which
are in bad condition. The resurfacing contract will improve 46.71 miles of street
which will include 30% arterial or collector and 70% residential streets. The slurry
contract will treat 14.93 miles of streets which will include 2% arterials or
collectors and 98% residential streets.
In accordance to standard City policy, the above quotes were selected from those
received at the Purchasing Office by the publicly advertised time and dates and
respresent the low bidders for each program.
