A RESOLUTION DISCOURAGING PIECEMEAL EXPANSION
OF ROSELAWN MEMORIAL PARK CEMETERY INTO THE
ADJACENT C.E. GALLAGHER ADDITION AND
ENCOURAGING THE CEMETERY TO FORMULATE AN
OVERALL FUTURE DEVELOPMENT PLAN.
WHEREAS, the residential area known as the
C.E. Gallagher Addition, which lies to the south and west of
the Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery, is a viable residential
area that should be protected; and
WHEREAS, continued piecemeal expansion of Roselawn
Memorial Park Cemetery into the C.E. Gallagher Addition will
undermine the stability of this residential area.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1.' The further expansion of Roselawn Memorial
Park Cemetery into the C.E. Gallagher Addition on a
piecemeal basis of acquiring areas of less than one -half
block and then seeking City approval is hereby officially
discouraged.
SECTION 2. Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery is hereby
encouraged to formulate an overall future development plan
that defines and limits future expansion into the
C.E. Gallagher Addition, prior to seeking City approval of
any further expansion in that direction.
