A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BEST BID FOR
VETERINARY CARE FOR ANIMALS AT THE LITTLE
ROCK ZOO; AWARDING A CONTRACT THEREFOR;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A
CONTRACT WITH THE BEST BIDDER; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the Board of Directors finds that
the bid for veterinary care for the animals at the Little Rock
Zoo submitted in 1981 by Dr. Marilynn Baevens, D.V.M. was
the low bid and best bid; that Dr. Baeyens is willing to
continue such services at the same hourly rate; and that the
Board of Directors should and does hereby accept the bid of
Dr. Baevens to continue her services at the same hourly rate,
and it awards the contract for such services to Dr. Baeyens.
Section 2. That the Little Rock City Manager is
hereby authorized and directed to prepare and execute a con-
tract with Dr. Marilynn Baevens, D.V.M. for her veterinary
services for the animals at the Little Rock Zoo, and to do
all things necessary to accomplish that purpose.
Section 3. This Resolution shall be in full force
and effect from and after its adoption and approval.

DISCUSSION:
Recommend re -award to Dr. Baeyens. See
attached memo from Zoo Director Bob
Cooper.
Dr. Baeyens was low bidder by approxi-
mately 33% in 1981. In view of the fact
that there has been some trouble in the
past getting veterinary care for the Zoo,
I believe Mr. Cooper's request is justi-
fied. The hourly rate will remain the
same as last year, $37.50. Last year
the Zoo expended $14,900 on this contract
with this years expenditures expected to
be approximately the same.
