A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
AWARD A CONTRACT FOR LONG -TERM DISABILITY
INSURANCE FOR EMPLOYEES; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City's insurance consultant, the Atkins
Insurance Company solicited proposals from some fifteen companies;
and
WHEREAS, the Travelers Insurance Company submitted the
only alternative proposal to the present carrier; and
WHEREAS, the Travelers Insurance Company submitted a
proposed rate of.$0.68 per $100 compared to the present rates of
$1.22 per $100; and
WHEREAS, the City's insurance consultant, the Atkins
Company has recommended that the proposal from.-the Travelers
Insurance Company would allow substantial savings to the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors
of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
enter into a contract with the Travelers Insurance Company
effective December 1, 1982 for a total contract price as set out,
the funds for which have been allocated in the budget.
Section 2. The insurance to be purchased hereby shall
comply with the bidding specifications. From time to time as may
be required, the City Manager and the Director of Finance are
hereby authorized and directed to issue the necessary warrants
in payment of the contract price.
Section 3. This resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption and approval.
