RESOLUTION N0. 7,070
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CHIEF OF POLICE WALTER
E. SIMPSON TO RETAIN WILLIAM R. WILSON AS HIS
ATTORNEY IN THE MATTER OF THE PETITION OF KEITH
ROUNSAVALL, ET AL., BEFORE THE CIVIL SERVICE
COMMISSION.
WHEREAS, a petition has been filed in the Civil Service
Commission by Keith Rounsavall and other officers of the Little
Rock Police Department complaining of Walter E. Simpson, Chief of
Police; and,
WHEREAS, the Little Rock City Attorney, who normally would
have the responsibility of representing the Chief of Police in
such proceeding cannot do so in this instance because of a
conflict of interest; and,
WHEREAS, under the circumstances, the Chief of Police is
entitled to be represented by private counsel of his own
choosing; and,
WHEREAS, the Chief of Police has selected William R. Wilson,
Attorney, to serve in such capacity,
Now, therefore:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The retainer of William R. Wilson, Attorney, by
the Chief of Police to serve as his counsel before the Civil
Service Commission in the matter of the Petition of Keith
Rounsavall, et al. is hereby approved.
Section 2. An attorney's fee of $75.00 per hour payable by
the City is hereby authorized for Mr. Wilson's services rendered
on behalf of the Chief of Police in this matter.
Section 3. Mr. Wilson shall submit monthly itemized
statements to the Board of Director's for his compensation.
