RESOLUTION NO. 7,062
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE
EMPLOYMENT OF COUNSEL FOR
THE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION
WHEREAS, the Little Rock City Attorney is directed by
statute to represent the Civil Service Commission, by ordinance
to represent the Chief of Police, by statute to represent the
13uar•d of Directors, and by ordinance Lo represent the City
Manager; and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney cannot within the bounds of
ethical propriety represent all of these parties; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the citizens of the
City of Little Rock for the City Attorney to disqualify from
representation of the Civil Service Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
Section 1. That Mike Rainwater of the firm of Gill, Skokos,
Buford and Owen is hereby retained by the Board of Directors to
represent the Civil Service Commission in the matter of a
petition filed by certain Little Rock police officers.
Section 2. A fee of $75.00 an hour is approved. Mr.
Rainwater will submit monthly detailed bills to the Little Rock
Board of Directors and understands that the relationship may be
terminated at any time. Mr. Rainwater further understands that
his representation is confined to this single instance and that
he has no additional authority to act on behalf or the City.
