A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO
JAMES C. MERRIWEATHER, CITY HALL REPORTER FOR
THE ARKANSAS DEMOCRAT, FOR HIS SERVICE TO THE
CITIZENS OF LITTLE ROCK AND EXTENDING BEST
WISHES IN JOURNALISTIC ASPIRATIONS THAT CARRY
HIM AWAY FROM CITY HALL.
WHEREAS, James C. Merriweather has been responsible
for City Hall news for the Arkansas Democrat for the past three
years; and
WHEREAS, through his dealings at City Hall, he has
established a reputation of honesty, integrity, insight and
intellect; and
WHEREAS, the numerous articles that he has penned
covering City issues ranging from simple to highly complex could
never be challenged on the basis of accuracy; and
WHEREAS, he consistently asserted himself for the
benefit of public information and successfully interacted with
a myriad of City Hall personalities; and
WHEREAS, his dry- witted personality and generally
"laid back" attitude will be sorely missed in the City Manager's
Office and other City Departments which he frequented.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That the City of Little Rock Board of
Directors wishes to express its appreciation to James C.
Merriweather for service to the citizens of Little Rock through
coverage of City Hall news and offers its best wishes and
encouragement for his future journalistic aspirations that carry
him away from City Hall.
