HomeMy WebLinkAbout7169A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A COMMITTEE TO EVALUATE THE SUBURBAN DEVELOPMENT PLAN ALONG HIGHWAY 10 BETWEEN I -430 AND PANKEY AND TO RECOMMEND CHANGES AS APPROPRIATE. M = = M WHEREAS, development patterns and prospects along Highway 10 have been carefully scrutinized in the past, both by citizens and public officials; and WHEREAS, Team Four, Inc. prepared specific land use recommenda- tions for the Highway 10 /Rodney Parham Road area in 1979 at the re- quest of the Board of Directors; and WHEREAS, the Suburban Development Plan, adopted by Ordinance #13,874 in September, 1980 designates future land use for the Highway 10 area; and WHEREAS, the Suburban Development Plan has successfully guided development in the Highway 10 area for almost four (4) years; and WHEREAS, the Arkansas Highway Department has assigned the improvement of Highway 10 west of Interstate 430 a high priority, having passed a Minute Order in 1983 which directs the department to "proceed with surveys, plans and construction as funds become available." and WHEREAS, recent development proposals along Highway 10 west of Interstate 430 suggest that the Plan needs to be reviewed and updated in this area. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS. SECTION 1. A Highway 10 Study Committee is hereby created which shall be comprised of two (2) members of the Board of Directors, two (2) members of the Planning Commission, two (2) resident property owners, and two (2) owner developers and (1) member at large. SECTION 2. Office of Comprehensive Planning and Department of Public Works shall serve as a staff resource to the Committee. SECTION 3. The Committee has twofold responsibility; first to evaluate current conditions along Highway 10 and second to recommend such modifications to the Suburban Development Plan as are deemed appropriate by the participants in this process. SECTION 5. The end product of this effort should be a site specific development plan, not only identifying specific land uses, but also locating buildings, parking areas, curb cuts and similar structural improvements.
