RESOLUTION NO. 7,292
A RESOLUTION DIRECTING THE PLANNING STAFF
TO MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS REGARDING AMENDMENT
OF THE OFFICIAL BOUNDARY LINE BASED UPON
CURRENT PROJECTED URBANIZATION AND REQUIRE-
MENTS FOR CITY SERVICES.
WHEREAS, the City Board of Directors established an Official
Annexation Boundary Line in Resolution No. 6,351 on June 3, 1980, and
WHEREAS, the Official Annexation Boundary Line was established
to facilitate long -term planning of future annexation and for future
service delivery, and
WHEREAS, the City Board of Directors has required that property
be annexed to the City prior to provision of sewer and water service,
and
WHEREAS, the City has discouraged voluntary annexations beyond
the official line because the City felt demonstrable urban potential
was not present, and
WHEREAS, planned utility extensions and expanded urban development
are being contemplated in many of the areas beyond the current Official
Annexation Boundary.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The Office of Comprehensive Planning Staff is hereby
directed to study the existing annexation boundary line to determine its
proper location based upon the current projected urbanization potential.
SECTION 2. The Study shall involve the entire Official Annexation
Boundary Line with particular emphasis upon the projected sewer capacity
for Northwest Little Rock as a result of the construction of the Little
Maumelle force main along County Farm Road.
SECTION 3. The Study shall include recommendations to the Board of
Directors regarding staged extension of the line to accommodate expected
growth and development and to allow for planned extension of City services
to areas to be annexed.

SECTION 4. This Resolution shall take effect and be in full force
from and after its adoption and approval.
