A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANGER
TO ACCEPT BIDS AND AWARD A CONTRACT FOR
THE REMODELING OF THE LITTLE ROCK JAIL.
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 7192, passed May 15, 1984,
authorized the City Manager to award a contract for jail
remodeling; and
WHEREAS, there was an omission in the specifications and
the project had to be readvertised.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
accept bids and award a contract to a bid as set forth in the
attached fact sheet and bid tabulation for a contract for the
remodeling of the Little Rock Jail for a total price not to
exceed the budget, payable from the funds specified in the fact
sheet.

BOARD ACTION RECOMMENDED: Adoption of a resolution
authorizing the City Manager to enter into a contract with
Cardinal Construction Company, Inc. for remodeling the City
of Little Rock jail and to make expenditures for third party
costs to support this contract, not to exceed $140,000,
which includes a $19,000 contingency.
Because of an omission in the specifications, this project
was readvertised. The second bids were opened
July 12, 1984, with Cardinal Construction Company, Inc.
being the low bidder at $121,000. This is well under the
architect's estimate. Funds are appropriated in Account
No. 599 -8652 for this contract.
This action will supersede that part of Resolution 7192,
passed May 15, 1984, as it applies to the jail remodeling.
