RESOLUTION OF ENCOURAGEMENT TO MIDDLE SOUTH
UTILITIES, INC., MIDDLE SOUTH SERVICES, INC.,
AND OTHER SUBSIDIARIES TO RELOCATE THEIR
CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS TO LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS.
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock has a quality of life
abundant with excellent geographic location, climate,
educational and cultural environment, economic attitude, and
industrious, positive and energetic citizens; and
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock recognizes the many positive
contributions to the community of both management and employees
of one of its most responsible corporate citizens, that being
Arkansas Power and Light Company; and
WHEREAS, all citizens of the City of Little Rock seek to
promote the establishment and continued maintenance of a body of
resident corporate citizens such as Middle South Utilities, Inc.,
and its subsidiaries; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock
considers the prospect of a move of a corporation headquarters
such as Middle South Utilities, Inc., and its subsidiaries to be
an extremely positive indication of the mutual admiration and
respect between the City of Little Rock and its private and
corporate citizens, and further visibly demonstrates a firm
commitment to excellence in all phases of future business
development.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK:
SECTION 1. The Board of Directors of the City of
Little Rock vote together and unanimously to urge and
encourage in the strongest possible terms the relocation of
Middle South Utilities, Inc., and its subsidiaries to a
suitable location within the City of Little Rock.

SECTION 2. The Board of Directors of the City of
Little Rock is ready and willing to work with Middle South
Utilities, Inc., and its subsidiaries, the Greater Little
Rock Chamber of Commerce and other interested parties to
promote the kind of transition from its present location
into the City of Little Rock so as to minimize personal
disruption and inconvenience to employees and families of
Middle South Utilities, Inc., and its subsidiaries.
