3 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THAT THE GOVERNOR
INCLUDE IN HIS CALL FOR A SPECIAL SESSION
4 OF THE LEGISLATURE SUCH CHANGES AS ARE
5 NECESSARY TO RECTIFY PROBLEMS CAUSED BY
ACTS 666 AND 707 OF 1985.

WHEREAS, Acts 666 and 707 of 1985, as codified in Ark. Stat.
8
9 Ann. Sections 41 -4509, at seq., have severely limited Arkansas
10 law enforcement agencies in their ability to investigate crime,
11
especially crimes involving the sale and manufacture of
12
13 controlled substances; and
14 WHEREAS, these Acts are not accomplishing the goals intended
15
by the General Assembly; and
16
17 WHEREAS, the Governor has indicated his consideration of
18 including in a call for a Special Session of the General Assembly
19
such measures that are necessary to rectify the inherent problems
20
21 caused to law enforcement agencies under the current language of
22 Acts 666 and 707 of 1985.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
24
25 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
26 Section 1. The Board of Directors of the City of Little
27
Rock hereby requests that the Governor include in his call for a
28
29 Special Session of the Legislature such changes as are necessary
30 to rectify the problems caused to law enforcement agencies by the
31
current language of Act 666 and Act 707 of 1985.
