RESOLUTION NO. 7,594 218
A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE LITTLE ROCK BOARD
OF DIRECTOR'S INTENT TO FUND IMPROVEMENTS TO
THE STATEHOUSE CONVENTION CENTER FOR
SPORTING EVENTS.
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock
wishes to improve the facilities at the Statehouse Convention
Center through the purchase of various improvements including a
basketball floor, goals, and additional seating; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors recognizes the need for
various organizations to have adequate sporting facilities within
the City of Little Rock; and
WHEREAS, the economy of the City of Little Rock will benefit
from events held at the Statehouse Convention Center through the
increased use of hotels, motels and restaurants; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors wishes to express its intent
to fund the purchase of these improvements contingent on staff
recommendations on the most feasible method of financing.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
research all available methods for financing the purchase of
various improvements to the Statehouse Convention Center and
report back to the Board of Directors at their meeting on May 61
1986 with appropriate suggestions.
