2 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
3 TO INVESTIGATE THE DEVELOPMENT AND
IMPLEMENTATION OF A DRUG ABUSE RESISTANCE
4 EDUCATION PROGRAM (DARE) FOR THE CHILDREN
5 OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK.

7 WHEREAS, drug abuse and alcohol dependency problems
8 involving school age children is a growing concern of all
9
citizens of the City of Little Rock; and
10
11 WHEREAS, the Board of Directors wishes to address this
12 serious situation; and
13
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors is interested in the
14
15 creation of an educational program for the children of Little
16 Rock aimed at teaching them how to resist the temptations of drug
17
and alcohol abuse.

19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
20 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:

Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
22
23 investigate the development and implementation of a Drug Abuse
24 Resistance Education (DARE) program in cooperation with the
25
Little Rock School District and the Little Rock Police
26
27 Department.
